Neil Schapera | bio
Neil is a Certified Shamanic Practitioner through the Foundation for Shamanic Studies (trained by Michael and Sandra Harner and Sandra Ingerman). He decided to be trained in Shamanism after years of reading about it and being close to Nature in the forests of South Africa. Neil completed the three year advanced training in Shamanism and Shamanic Healing with the Foundation for Shamanic Studies in 2001.
He earned his B.Soc. Science (Hons Psychology ) degree from the University of Cape Town.
Neil is also a Certified Teacher of the Alexander Technique, teaching for twenty years. He trained in the Alexander Technique when he realised it offered a way to learn to lead a more constructively, conscious life. Neil completed his training in the Alexander Technique at the Constructive Teaching Center in London, in 1987. He is certified in England and the USA.
Neil is co-director of the Alexander Technique of Cincinnati, an AmSAT (American Society for the Alexander Technique) authorised school for training Alexander teachers. Neil, his wife, Vivien and his family moved from Cape Town, South Africa to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1991 to start Alexander Technique of Cincinnati.
In his "spare" time, Neil also likes to do website work and has begun offering his website services as well.

On this year's cruise, Neil will be offering the following two-part course:
Shamanic Extraction Healing
Part I - Participants will first deepen their skills of Shamanic Journeying in order to establish the required intense connection with their Spirit Helpers and Teachers.
Part II - Participants will learn how to use the shamanic trance state to "see" interferences in a personšs psycho-physical system, and guided by the Spirits, to remove these from the person they are helping.
On the 2008 Sea Angels Cruise, Neil will be available for a limited number of appointments for private Shamanic Journey work and Alexander lessons. (In their lessons, Neil and his wife, Vivien Schapera, use the fundamental principles and practices of the Alexander Technique to teach you how to become conscious of patterns which interfere with your physical, mental and emotional functioning and how to bring yourself into the desired alignment. This information can be integrated into daily living and assist with conditions which cause pain and stress.)
