I am thrilled to be on the Sea Angels cruise again, for the fourth straight year in a row. I have been psychic for as long as I can remember, and can remember paying close attention to my dreams and intuitions since I was a small child. At age twelve, I received my first deck of tarot cards; at age twenty-two, I read an astrological book which completely changed the course of my life, as well as my career direction. At that age, I had no concept that I could actually make a living as an intuitive, figuring that I needed to get a "real job." Now, at age 49, being a full-time astrologer and tarot card reader IS my real job. I cannot imagine anything I would rather do.
I have been featured on Contact metaphysical talk radio in Seattle, and have appeared on television in Washington state and in Austin, Texas. I write a monthly astrological column for the Entertainer newspaper, based in eastern Washington. I have traveled extensively to shows and events throughout the United States, having many exciting experiences and meeting numerous colorful people along the way. I recently returned to the Chicago area, the land of my birth, after many years on the west coast. It is thrilling to be back in the Chicago area, especially since I am a serious blues aficionado. Be sure to engage me in conversation while onboard the ship about the history of the blues, as I can talk about it for hours (don't say I didn't warn you!). My other interests include yoga (I can do a mean tree pose) writing, my family (two children-Nolan, age 18, and Hannah, whom you may remember from last year's cruise, plus my devoted husband Russ) and dancing (see you at the disco).
This year, I'll be teaching four classes while on-board the ship-Nature Spirits of the Tarot 1 & 2, Retrogrades and Moon Cycles: Using Astrology in Everyday Life, and What the Stars and Planets Have to Tell You.
Nature Spirits of the Tarot
Nature Spirits of the Tarot is a two-part class:
Part One: Do you feel a strong affinity for squirrels, bears, or mountain lions, which transcends logic? You're not alone......This class offers an overview of the significance of nature in the symbolism of the tarot. I will describe the power that exists in the cards as a result of the life forms that appear in the images. Both plants and animals will be discussed. Each participant should bring two decks, if possible-a conventional deck, such as Rider-Waite, and an animal-themed deck, such as the Medicine Cards.
Part Two: This interactive class will give you the opportunity to apply the concepts that you learned in Part One. Team up with a partner, and ask questions-you'll be amazed and enlightened by the answers. You'll be able to give and receive readings to the other people in the class, based on your new knowledge of animal and plant symbolism, the cards, and your own inner landscape.
Retrogrades and Moon Cycles: Using Astrology in Everyday Life
Have you ever wondered why some enterprises run as smoothly as clockwork, while others seem doomed from the outset? Astrology holds many of the answers to this question. The fact is that timing is everything, and astrology is all about timing! For example, the planet Mercury goes retrograde 3-4 times per year, and this is not a good time for major purchases. Similarly, the period of time when the moon is "void of course" is a time for meditation and relaxation, not action. Want to know what this means, and how you can apply your knowledge of the planets' mysterious rotations to your everyday decisions? Attend this class, and discover how to mesh cycles of your activities to the cycles of the universe.
Keynote: What the Stars and Planets Have to Tell You
The cosmos is a living, breathing entity. It is engaged in a constant dance, and the interplay between the planets changes continuously, resulting in an infinite number of planetary configurations. No day, week, or year is exactly like any other. 2008 is an especially exciting year, not just because of the upcoming elections, but also due to a host of other factors, such as Pluto's entry into Capricorn (the sign of government). I will discuss some of the factors that make 2008 such an incredible year, as well as how that can affect each one of you, based upon your own astrological influences. Bring your questions, comments, and insights, and be prepared for a lively discussion!
Services On-Board Ship
I will be available on the ship all week for astrological and tarot consultations. My tarot readings draw from a variety of decks and spreads. I offer numerous astrological services, such as natal (birth) charts, transits for the next 1-2 years, and compatibility charts for up to four people. I especially enjoy combining tarot and astrology into a detailed reading. These readings are really mind-blowing in their depth and accuracy!
